What Does It Mean to Live a Holy Life? Being Set Apart
In Scripture, the word holy means set apart.
“Just as He who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: ‘Be holy, because I am holy.'” 1 Peter 1:15 to 16
Being set apart does not mean being better than other people. It simply means that our lives belong to God. As we grow in our relationship with Him, our attitudes begin to change, our priorities become different, and our decisions are shaped by His Word rather than by the values of the world around us.
Living a holy life does not mean withdrawing from the world. Instead, it means living differently within it. It means choosing truth when compromise would be easier, extending grace when others choose anger, and remaining faithful to God even when it is unpopular or difficult.
Holiness Begins in the Heart

Father,
Thank You for calling me to live a life that is set apart for You. Teach me to see holiness as a privilege rather than a burden. Search my heart and reveal anything that keeps me from walking closely with You. Help me to surrender every part of my life into Your hands and fill me with Your Holy Spirit so that my words, my thoughts, and my actions reflect Your love and Your truth.
